Stepan Zhiryakov

Was born on March 2, 1948 in the village of Pervomayskaya, Shilkinskaya district, Zabaykalsky region.

He began his labor activity as a mechanic in 1966 on the Zabaykalsky GOK. After graduating in 1972, the metallurgical faculty of the Irkutsk Polytechnic Institute continued to work at the plant, first as an engineer in the shop Equipment, then from 1974 at the processing plant – shift foreman, head of Department of dehydration, the chief of the main building. In 1981 he was elected Chairman of the United trade Union Committee No. 112 Zabaykalsky GOK.

In 1983 he graduated from the Irkutsk Polytechnical Institute on a speciality the mountain engineer–the dresser.

In may 1986, was appointed Director of Altacanada mining of Zaboka in the village Solitaries, Olovyanninskiy district.

In 1994 he was invited to work at JSC Zabaykalzoloto chief engineer, and from November 1996 to November 2000 worked as General Director.

In November 2000, according to the restructuring program of JSC Zabaykalzoloto, she was transferred to the LLC "Mining plant "Dracunculua" the Director General, in January 2002 Director of Chita representative office of OOO "Darasunskiy Rudnik. In January 2004 he was appointed Director of the Chita representative office of the management company Russdragmet British-canadian company Highland Gold Mining.

In June 2010 he was elected to the position of Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Zabaykalsky Krai.

Elected Deputy of the village Council, the Chita regional Council of deputies of the Chita regional Duma of the IV convocation.

Awarded breast signs "miner's glory of three classes, Honorary miner", "For zeal for the good of the region", the medal "For merits in front of the Chita area". Awarded the title "Honored worker of the mining industry of the Chita region".

Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of mining Sciences, full member (academician) of International Academy of environmental safety (MANEB).

16 Oct 2013 a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation - the representative from Legislative Assembly of Zabaykalsky Krai. Member of the Federation Council Committee on agrarian and food policy and environmental management.
