ANNOUNCEMENT: The V International forum “Baikal Dialogue” will take place in Ulan – Ude (Buryatia) from 14th to 16th of September

The V International forum “Baikal Dialogue” will be held in the capital of the Republic of Buryatia Ulan – Ude and Gremyachinsk village near Lake Baikal on September 14 – 16, 2016.

The forum is organized by the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Republic of Buryatia with the help of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. The forum will be attended by delegations from China, Japan, Mongolia, South Korea and Russia. The event will be also supported by IFC “METROPOL” and Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal.

Forum “Baikal Dialogue” is intended to unite members from governments, finance, business, science, civil society and foreign partners for solving current issues of the Baikal region. This year the major theme of the discussions will be “International and frontier cooperation - progressive potential for development”. The Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Environment and Ecology Mikhail Slipenchuk and the Deputy Minister of the Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexander Tsybulskiy will act as moderators of the plenary session of the forum.

Experts are going to deliberate international and frontier cooperation matters, trade – economic and scientific – technological topics, problems of Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Exchange of Contacts in the B2B format is scheduled at the forum, where Russian companies will be able to communicate directly with business partners from China and Mongolia. Forum “Baikal Dialogue” involves active bilateral meetings of the members of the Russian Parliament with Japanese, Mongolian and Chinese parliamentarians.

Besides the sessions the participants of the forum will able to join a rich cultural program with excursions to the SEZ «Baikal harbor» and to the shore of Lake Baikal.
