To Mr Mikhail V. Slipenchuk.
State Duma Deputy of the Federal Assembly of the Russian
Federation,
Co-ordinator of the Deputy Group on Liaisons with the Parliament of
Japan
Dear Mikhail Viktorovich,
I would like to express my great gratitude for inviting members of
our Japanese-Russian Friendship Parliamentary Association to the
International Forum ‘Baikal Dialogue’ that takes place now in the
Buryatia.
Realizing that modern international situation can’t help but affect
Japan and Russia bylateral relations, we are well aware of the
fact how important, in this regard, the Forum is. For it
gives wonderful opportunity for sincere communication between
parliamentarians of our countries.
Unfortunately due to a tight working schedule of our deputies this
year the Parliamentary Association failed to organize the trip of
our delegation to the Baikal Forum. And I am extremely sorry about
that - notwithstanding all the complexity of the nowadays
international situation – because the deputies of the Japanese
parliament that took part in the Baikal Dialogue Forum last year
informed me of how important it turned to be.
I am convinced that such meetings where parliament representatives
from our countries could freely discuss different problems and
deepen mutual understanding are extremely important for the
development of the Japanese-Russian relations.
Taking this into consideration in my future visits to Russia I
would be glad to meet deputies of the RF Parliament.
I heartily wish you health and fruitful work.
Deputy of the Chamber of Representatives of the Japanese
Parliament,
Chairman of the Parliamentary Association of the
Japanese-Russian Friendship
