Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Sergei Menyailo supported holding the forum «Baikal Dialogue»

The working meeting of Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Sergei I. Menyailo with Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Environment and Ecology Mikhail V. Slipenchuk was held on August 9.

During the meeting, they were discussing the issues related to socio-economic development of the Republic of Buryatia.

Sergei Menyailo expressed his readiness to consider urgent matters of Lake Baikal’s protection and supported holding the V International forum «Baikal Dialogue» in September 2016, in Ulan-Ude. Mikhail Slipenchuk invited Sergei Menyailo to take part in the forum. Sergei Menyailo has highly appreciated the work of the Interfactional deputy group «Baikal» during the work of the 6th State Duma and has declared himself in favor of proceeding cooperation with Interfactional  parliamentary group of Baikal region in the next convocation.

The V International forum «Baikal Dialogue» on «International and frontier cooperation - progressive potential for development» will take place in Ulan – Ude (Buryatia) from 15th to 16th of September. It is organized by the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Republic of Buryatia with the help of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal. Previous forum «Baikal Dialogue» was held with the support and active participation of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Siberian Federal District.

At the suggestion of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation the meeting of the Subcommission on international and frontier cooperation of the Russian-Mongolian Intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technological cooperation will take place at the forum.

The forum will be attended by business partners from China, Japan, Mongolia and South Korea. Also it is going to be visited by the members of the Russian Parliament with Japanese, Mongolian and Chinese parliamentarians.
