Within the framework of III International ‘Baikal Dialogue’ Forum that takes place in Ulan-Ude these days working meetings were held between the Head of Buryatia Republic Vyacheslav V. Nagovitsyn and representatives of the companies from Japan, Austria and China, dealing with waste management.
The meetings were also attended by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Nature Management and Ecology Mikhail V.Slipenchuk; Minister of Economics of the Buryatia Republic Tatyana G. Dumnova; Deputy Chairman of the Buryatia Republic Government on economic development Alexandr Chepik; Head of Metropol Office in Japan Alexandr Tzibulevich, Counsellor of IFC Metropol Sukagava Kendzi and others.
The main topic of all three meetings was the problem of waste utilization at the Baikal territory. The companies offered their schemes for waste processing. V.V.Nagovitsyn pointed out that the existing in Buryatia plants of waste processing are not up-to-date along with the growing number of waste dumps in the region.
Doi Toru , president ‘Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Environment & Chemical Engineering Co LTD’, told the gathering that Japan faced the same situation back in the 70-s last century and that since then legislation as regards waste utilization was strengthened. Japan specialists have at their disposal rich experience and are ready to offer their know-how to Buryatia.
Franz Sauseng, Director General of the INTERSERO Austria Gmbh ALBA Group told about plants the company built in Slovakia, Croatia, Poland and in the cities of some other European countries. Not long ago the company started its expansion at the Russian market. The Austrian company is ready to offer technologies that can shortly help clean Baikal shores from the waste without making harm to the unique natural territory.
Chinese delegation would like to invest into Baikal water usage and into waterpipe construction via Mongolia which lacks water resources. Lee Su, cochairman of the Association ‘Bank of People’s Wisdom’ (China) also mentioned about their wish to invest into tourism development in the region.
Summing up the meetings’ results the parties
agreed to strengthen their relations and look into all projects in
detail.
