III International Forum ‘Baikal Dialogue’ opened in Ulan-Ude

Today in Ulan-Ude an opening ceremony of the III International Forum ‘Baikal Dialogue’ was held. The event took place in the one of the most beautiful buildings of the Buryatia capital  - State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Tsydenzhapov.

At the opening ceremony the welcoming message from State Duma Chairman Sergey Ye. Naryshkin was read. In particular it said that the issues of lake Baikal protection and its basin natural resources’ management are in the center of attention of the state and the public.

The gathering was welcomed by the Head of the Buryatia President Vyacheslav V. Nagovytsyn, State Duma Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Natural Resources, Natural Management and Ecology  Мikhail V. Slipenchuk, Zabaikalsky Kray Governor Konstantin K. Ilkovsky. The welcoming message from the Plenipotentiary RF President Representative in the Syberian Federal District Nikolay Ye. Rogozhkin was read by his aide V. Popov.

Vyacheslav V. Nagovytsyn  in his speech pointed out that the ‘Baikal Dialogue’ Forum year by year is becoming more perfect and changing for the better. ‘Baikal – is the lake that unites all of us. Baikal problems are multifaceted – it is the problem of population that lives along its shores, problem of those who are involved in the production sphere and ‘make’ our economics, pay taxes. And, of course, problem of our subjects’ development. All these problems are to be discussed and solved only together, by joint effort. I am glad that delegations from Japan, China, Mongolia and Austria are present today at the Forum. They came here not empty-handed but with modern innovative proposals’.

Mikhail V. Slipenchuk also welcomed the gathering and said that only by joint effort it is possible to solve acute problems, take right decisions and provide for Baikal region to become flourishing.

Кonstantin K. Ilkovsky greeted the audience with the Forum opening on the behalf of those who live in Zabaikalsky Kray, pointing out the importance of considering all the aspects of life of those who live on the territory around lake Baikal.

After the official part of the Forum opening ceremony was over gala concert with the participation of the best Buryatia Republic actors of the State Opera and Ballet Theater and the State Circus of Buryatia was held.
